My love affair in Psychology, Counselling and Psychotherapy, began in 2002. During that period, I volunteered at Samaritans, Depaul, in various roles to gain experience, such as a student researcher (Psychology and Counselling project) at Teesside University. I also worked with adults with learning difficulties and disabilities, e.g., brain injury and autism. After completing a BSc in Psychology and Counselling, I fell in Love with Positive Psychology and Coaching, so I decided to peruse an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology. In 2019 I returned to finish my psychotherapy training at Scarborough Counselling and Psychotherapy Training Institute (SCPTI).
Research Interests: Nature, exercise, mindfulness, meditation, self–compassion, Grit, performance, positive and negative affect, autism, highly sensitive people (HSP), procrastination, anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicide, entrapment, risk and decision making. Relational Integrative Psychotherapy promotes the intrinsic worth of each human being.
‘Integrative Psychotherapy’ is an amalgamation of different models of psychotherapy, each therapist structures their own unique way of working with a client according to each individual need. The process of working with a client allowing to incorporate the many distinct aspects of their personality. It is the process of looking at the whole and not just its parts. Therapists work with clients in a powerful relationally centred way using integration and the here and now moment to promote awareness and self-acceptance allowing to emerge each moment openly and newly without the protection of a pre-formed opinion, position, attitude, or expectation.
